Dropped the car off at the garage to have the footbrake mechanism replaced. Anyone else have issues with it sticking on? It usually takes at least 5 pulls of the handle before it releases.

Yes, the return spring is not strong enough to raise the pedal. Have to pull it up with my foot.

Had a Quaife LSD fitted on Friday. Still getting used to the additional grip and ability to put the power down out of corners etc and will try to put together a write up once I've got used to the new addition :)

They’re replacing the whole mechanism on mine I think!

Would be interested to know how much its costs to replace.

I’ve just received a call to say it’s covered under my tier 1 extended warranty otherwise it’s £500.

In which case I won't bother. That's way too much.

Well my wife took the car in the first time to get it diagnosed and she was advised of the price. When she phoned me to let me know, I swore. I then heard the service lady uncomfortably chuckle which is when I realised my wife was on loud speaker in the middle of the garage.

I reminded the service lady that we had tier 1 cover and that’s when she said it could be repaired FOC.

Took my front suspension apart (AGAIN) to try to replace the rear Lower-Control-Arm Bush which is where the loud creaking appears to be coming from.

Yet again, I was nobbled by not having the correct "specialist tool". Except this time the "specialist tool" turned out to be a 24mm ring spanner.

Hilka Combination spanner ordered (£6.85 since you ask) and I'll try again at the weekend.

There's a huge need for DIY-ers to document their successes and failures, (which I try to). Youtube is only so useful, and the Official Mercedes DVD-based Workshop manual is alarmingly useless!

Beats me why the mechanics ever refer to it. Would certainly explain some of the bodges I read about on here if they did!

Changed W219 water change over valve, AC still not fully working.

BUT: found a destroyer box connected in harness of rail pressure sensor... removed it immediately, damn those swedish...

Just had my airbag recall done on the C63. They can't sort the noisy panoramic roof today as they need to drop the headliner and tighten some screws and don't have time.
That'll be another trip then

Finished both OS and NS wiring harnesses for my next mod, couldn't wait for the ordered back cover (collecting Monday, from MB Northampton), so had to make sure the harness diameter is less, than 12mm ;)

I’ve washed my car more times in the rain than I have when it’s dry.

Firstly I save water by not using a hose pipe, second I don’t get the hard water marks when it dries and third...I know the car is going to be dirty again as soon as I get it back on the road!

Spent the afternoon removing the rear bumper and the rear crash bar only 3 rusted bolts but a tickle with the grinder sorted them. Now ready to fit the towbar tomorrow. Really enjoying my new car.
