What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Had a a maintenance detail on two - just the outside this time as at this time of year they get dirty on the outside far quicker than on the inside - and my goodness they both look good now.

Polishes up an absolute treat doesn't it?

It certainly does! Performed well too. The 200 mile round trip is the furthest I've been in it and not one grumble. I even caught a couple admiring it in the car park.

And at an indicated 75 on cruise I don't think 32.x mpg overall is too shabby either.

'Tis a lovely looking motor.

Two hour road trip to Hunstanton, walk on the beach, coffee and cake at the café by RNLI old town and two hour drive back. Lovely day for open top driving 😎
Perfect day for it 👌🏻

Did you call in to the owl museum?

Thank you. I have been taken a little by surprise at how much I'm enjoying it. Using it daily too. The 9-3 is hardly getting a look in. I still have to invest in 3 new tyres as I'm not happy about the age of the ones that are on but bar a pending 6 monthly oil change I'm onto the non-essential stuff now. Number one is replacing the silver Avantgarde trim with the wood out of an Elegance. A wheel refurb would be good too. Also managed to get it up on a lift last week and pleased to report that the transmission weep that's been mentioned on the MOT forever is now sorted.

Off to Bicester Scramble tomorrow...

One of my favourites from the show. Proper Merc.

Took one for a dusk/dark spin - to get a coffee - with Mrs D for an impromptu Mom & Dad date. It was a lovely but confusing evening.

Unseasonably warm but very dark very early, and rolling mist in low areas and around streams and rivers. Odd for it to go for bright sunshine and strong heat to darkness and heavy mist 90 minutes later.

At one point we’re we’re driving beneath a layer of heavy mist for a mile or two, and the hedgerows either side made it feel like we were driving in a tunnel. I’ve never experienced that before.

Fitted the autodoc brake light recommended by rich1068, much tidier fit, I think the biggest difference between that and the fleabay one is the gasket, autodoc one has a proper closed cell foam gasket that seals nicely, the fleabay one came with a very thin rubber gasket that just flapped about doing nothing.

Can they be used with a pressure washer?
Best with a pressure washer. You just connect them in line: hose from tap to DI vessel, hose from DI vessel to pressure washer 👍🏻

Just a quick wash of mine after 400 or so miles this week.

The resin filtered final rinse really works well (no spots etc)

Then of course, one of our wonderful cats climbed up when I wasn't looking to sunbathe on the black, warm pano roof !!

Bleeping bleep bleep of a bleeper!!!!
How much, and what d’you get?

Ummm.....
I don't follow?
