Ordered new wheels on Sat, which should arrive by Wed accompanied by spacers and conical bolts, how they look on my CLS....think I'll be quite happy with them....although not to everyone's taste.

Completed a 'B' Service on my W202 C180 today - a nice little pre-pre-facelift runner from 1995 having just covered 91k.

spent 5 hours with a clay bar 2 stage paint sealer and Harley wax time worth spent looks good

Are your tyres worn?

Not at all. To be honest I am not so sure what caused it. It was at night, and the road was mildly wet, but I was at low speed, just turning into the corner from complete standstill. I'll assume there may have been oil on the road as well.

I may have done something stupid somehow :)

Check wheel bolts, after a wheel coming off I get a bit paranoid about them.

Had a small clean up under the bonnet, found the big round plastic cover on the back of the headlight was not on,so spent ages until I managed to fit it back into place, and it seems the aircon is not working so booked into a local garage who say they can re gas it,I just cannot spare the time to take it to a known air con specialist ,I might regret this.

Got the normal indicator malfunction come up yesterday and the quick indicator noise has been doing my head in.

Luckily thanks to all those that have treaded the path before me the job was not difficult.

Removed the mirror surround to access the loom. I was faced with three broken wires and a pull on the others revealed all the mirror motor and indicator wires needed sorting.

Good news it was a nice sunny day and my new gas soldering iron I got for Xmas worked really well.

All back together and normal service has been resumed.

Put the summer wheels/tyres back on the SLK. Pretty much guarantees it will snow this week.

Drove out for a posh fat boy breakfast, roof down in the sun, converting petrol to noise:devil:, followed by a pub lunch, followed by more petrol conversion:devil:.

Happy fat and rosy cheeked:D

Took the family to the local city this morning for a few errands. The folding mirrors let me down when the passenger mirror failed to fold back out. I need to follow the lead of Mrhanky above - post #1271. It has been intermittent since I bought the car a year ago.

This arrived today, so bonet up and some sizing was done.

Will be pondering the best way forward over the next few days.

Those wheels really set the car off IMHO. There was a CLS55 sold on AT recently, same wheels/colour - was it yours TK?

Gave it its first wash, and used snow foam for the first time. Surprisingly effective!
