What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

I got the Assyt message , Service A due in 30 days yesterday, so having the Petronas 5w/40 oil already, I got a Hengst oil filter and set about changing the oil today. Using these suction pumps is so easy, OK there may be a little of the old oil left behind, but it saves taking off the undertrays and crawling under the car. I'm past all that now. Took around an hour with time for a brew and checking the condition of the air filter which was new last year. Reset the service indicator which now shows another due in 365 days time.

Having changed the plugs a couple weeks ago, I'm happy that the car is in good working order ready for selling in a few weeks time.

That has not happened within the last year...I'd suggest that was missed last time. Low miles and service history will have no effect on subframe corrosion unfortunately. Best of luck on getting a free repair though.

No hole last year, we put them on the ramp before they go off for MOT.
In fairness there was no hole this year till I poked my finger through it. :)

This is probably the worse area for the 204 & 212 failures so we know exactly where to prod.

Had the thundershowers assist me with washing my car and then the heavens cleared, so on went Graphene flexiwax View attachment 175157
The car was absolutely filthy.

Finally got to take a couple of pictures of my sweat and toil this morning at my commute car park though the car was wet after some overnight rain20250708_074839(1).jpg Screenshot_20250708_092533_Gallery.jpg within a few days i expect a thick layer of yellow dust to cover the paintwork which happens constantly where I live

Yep. Going to view an E63s Friday
Hopefully a better day than the last viewing. Poured with rain so an exterior viewing not really showing much. The owner didn't bother cleaning the car, the mats were covered in dust and finally refused to budge on his already inflated price. I walked.
Hopefully better news to report after this viewing. Has a huge options list.

Not much you can do about the weather, but viewing a car in the rain is always a non-starter.

It will be if it checks out Rob.
Unfortunately I won't be able to collect it until beginning of August as I'm away on holiday next week and the car needs a new MOT and service before I take ownership. Also having a new driveway put in whilst I'm away so I wouldn't have anywhere to park it anyway.:(

Park it on my drive slim, you're welcome

Leave me the key .....

:D

MOT pre-inspection on the other W212, this one has 27k miles with a 100% clean MOT history and full service history (dealer then indy).

Not looking good, Rear Subframe will be an MOT failure. :(

It's crazy; look how clean the rest of the underside of that car is and yet the subframe has rotted out. 😠

Rog, if you can’t help but take it away on Friday then just say the word and I’ll take good care of it whilst you’re away and the drive is done 👀😁

Tonight I took a picture of my A205, a pic i’ve been wanting to get for a few months now.

On the road between Kings Lynn and Fakenham sits a long disused filling station which has retained its optimistic Open sign for decades. Purchase of the site and filling station demolition was announced a few days ago, to be replaced by offices.

For months cones aplenty have blocked entry but tonight they had magically moved/disappeared sufficient to get in.
