Very nice! Cut up the bacon into cubes, fry until crisp then add finely sliced leak cook until soft and add the arborio rice. Add the chicken stock and place in the oven. After ~30min add the sugar snap peas and some sliced spring onion. Serve with a drizzle of olive oil and a good grind of black pepper. Goes very nicely with a chilled vinho verde

Missed dinner , didn’t fancy food at the Mayors fundraiser in Washington NC . Now back at our very comfortable 1820 B&B . Partaking of the free wine , pretzels and peanuts.

A selection of warm, soft and delicious home made breads to keep hunger at bay then a blue cheese arrancini with poached pears for me, Scallops and Calimari for the others.

There of us then had excellent boned roasted partridge with apple sauce, game chips etc and a 4th dish of roasted Monkfish wrapped in pancetta.

We choose to share two dessert taster selections of sticky toffee pudding, a crumble pie , a trifle and a blueberry creme brule.

Finished with coffee and petit fours.
