What is the warranty period on a MB battery

I replaced mine in February last year. After two Mobilio-Life call outs for a flat battery in January and another today the technician has decided the battery is borderline.

I'm booked in the local dealer tomorrow. Is he going to replace this one under warranty or charge me another £135?

The time is normally stated at the time of purchase and most brands come with a 2,3 or 4 year guarantee depending on the price paid

If your car is within the 3 years warranty you may get it free depending on the discretion of your dealer. Some dealer that I know say in Ipswich they will say no but in Dundee gratis.

I believe it is usually a 2 year warrant on parts. Unsure about batteries due to their longetivity

If the battery is only just over a year old, it should definately be under warantee and it should be replaced free.

If they say otherwise, give them hell !!!!!

Is it gold platted. Why do I get the impression some MB owners feel that being ripped off is part of the enjoyment of driving this mark.

After driving an Aston Martin for five years everything MB seems very reasonable.

There is nothing on the official MB receipt, which bothers me and is why I ask.

It is a Mercedes-Benz branded battery.

If you got it for £135, it consider cheap. I paid £140 for my W211. The auxiliary dry cell battery is even more expensive. God forbids it will not fail.

When you buy a Banner Exide, Bosch, lucas you have the option to get a 2 to 4 year gurantee, its scaled into the price

Most batteries are are past their best after 5 years,, the odd one will go for 10, its pot luck.

The AGLM battery in my car I replaced, last year, but the starter one is fine at 6 years

The Nissan dealer replaced the battery on my mum's micra at a cost of about £30 and that was an official Nissan battery. It was far cheaper than anywhere else at the time and that was about 3 years ago.

The thing came with a 3 year warantee. Into the second year it would not hold charge for some reason. So they did a quick test and replaced it with with no arguments.

For a battery that costs £135 pounds I'd expect a bit more than 2 years !!!

The last Honda battery I bought from Honda was no more than £50, it had a very good warantee aswell.

I don't know where Mercs get theor battery prices from.

The main battery makers have their own outlets in all large towns,, My V70R 90 amp with 3 years warranty cost £75 18 months back from Lucas direct

MB's can come with Banner, Varta,, and Bosch, unless the wording for the battery is different it will be the same as the electrics on the car

So the current battery has only last about a year?

Rather than replacing it, is your dealer going to look into what might be draining it first?

I'm just thinking you might have an electrical fault that is drawing more power than usual.

Just a thought.

It says Mercedes-Benz on the battery. The dealer has confirmed that the warranty is 2 years. They want to test it again and maybe do an overnight charge. Why I don't know the battery is obviously a wrong 'un and it would be cheaper to simply replace it.

I've already checked that with an auto electrican and so has the Mobilio-Life technician. The drain during normal running and when "asleep" is within normal operating parameters.
