There was an article I read some time back where the son of a dictator of small African country had placed an order for a super yacht.

Apparently it would have cost more than their country spends on health and education in one year.

The order was cancelled.

Interesting that the word 'obscene' has been used so many times on this thread. 85% of the worlds assets are owned by just 10% of its inhabitants and less than 10% of people own any sort of car.
Many of us on here own more than one car and we are all in the top 10% of wealthiest people in the world.
Maybe our love affair with Mercedes Benz is obscene?

Besides, that yacht can take 48 guests so that's less than £12,800 per person. Bargain!

You will probably find that the £613,800 is just the base price though. Add the fuel, berthing, food, tips, hookers etc and it does start to look pricey.
