Firstly, I'm quite sure the stickers showing psi aren't on the inside of the doors, secondly - the wheels are not the stock ones - they are AMG.

Car is a 1999 facelift CLK 230 (w208).

The wheels are 17" AMG. The tyres are 235/45/17

They're currently at 30 psi, just wondering what they should actually be at.

Thanks,
R

On the inside of the B pillar (not the door!) or inside the fuel filler flap. Also in the owner's handbook.

Tyre pressures will be as stated AMG or stock, no difference

As above, it's printed inside the fuel filler flap. AMG rims don't require different tyre pressures AFAIK, the pressure sticker on my CLK55 is a '210' part number and common to standard 208 CLKs from what I can gather.

30psi is slightly on the low side, especially for the rear I think.

thanks, shall have a look where suggested.

one issue is that i'm quite sure the car was originally on 16's which i thought might make a difference to the psi.

AFAIK it doesn't.

Thanks for the help. But I just don't think that sounds right. The volume of the tyre has changed

Yes, but you're setting pressure, not volume.

I use the manufacturer's spec as a 'guide' anyway, adjusting to personal preference and tyre wear etc.
