I'm thinking about fitting larger alloys on my W210. Currently they are 15'' but what do I have to bear in mind when I go up a few sizes.

Would wheels from any other E-class fit straight on? I know I have to consider arch clearance. What would everyone consider a good size .

Do I have to quote the "off set" size when ordering or should a good supplier already know the exact sizes etc.

Please excuse ignorance, last time I changed wheels was on a "Escort".

Thanks everyone .

Hi Paul,

without any mods you can go upto 18" rim size. Any wheels off of any SLK, CLK, C or E-class will fit straight on. MB recommends rear tyre sizes of upto 245 (although 255 will fit) and fronts 225. Off sets for are ET30ish rear, ET35ish front. Rim widths are can go upto 8.5" rear 7.5" front, although I've heard of bigger.

Thanks Matt,

Should a good wheel dealer know what I would need with regards to off set etc, or would I have to give them the exact dimensions myself?

Anyone recommend a good alloy wheel dealer? I like the AMG wheels as per E55. Should I buy genuine or replicas, is there a big diffrence apart from cost?

The replicas are pretty good IMO, but you pays yer money and ..etc

Good luck.

Whilst talking to the owner of a local alloy wheel refurbisher,
he mentioned that he has just purchased a 1988, SE300.
But it had 18'' AMG wheels on it that he is going to change as there not in keeping with the car.

He has offered them to me for a low price including refurbishing them with diamond cut rims.

BUT... Will they fit on my hubs? Please let the answer be yes!!
I am gratefull for your answers.

For those of you who need your wheels done, the work I saw was exceptional, and they do a same day service if required.

For the first time in my life I actually saw split rims that were in two pieces, only ever seen them bolted together before.

Thanks for advice.

P.S Hope link works as never used one before!

Sent PM RE : 300SE

They are the same stud pattern and will physically fit, but I would not recomend it as the offset is drastic on the old 300SE etc.

As i say, valuable wheels in good condition.

if you want to clear them, contact me with pics and exact sizes, i will talk with the boss, and see what we can offer you for them.

V12 , what 15" wheels do you have for sale at the moment?

For your car??

I'll check, but i think we sold the last set yesterday.

I have some 18" AMG replicas going, absolutely mint (not a scratch) with tyres, £700

Will fit E-Class, C-Class, SLK, CLK etc...

Thanks , yeah for my car ...

Am stuck between getting 17" brabus replicas and just maybe getting a cleaner set of 15" ones . The previous owner of my car must have been a woman , ill leave the rest to your imagination.

On my CE I put 235/17 inch tyres on, and 1 slightly rubs the inner plastic arch, but its not quite straight. (and its not yet lowered) They were ET35 off set. The recomendation on mine was only 225/17s.

Dont know how different the newer E classes are.

V12,

I will be looking at the wheels next Saturday 24th Aug.

I found out that they are actually AMG replicas and are the same style as on your signature.

I dont know any other size's at moment other than they are 18'', also not sure on condition as owner of Lepsons offered to refurbish them with diamond polished rims.

If you want me to I will let you know exact sizes and condition when I see them.

Regards,
Paul.

Thanks paul, that will be great!
