What a guess:p

Sabre was my first and best dog who died some years ago. All M/cr Police dogs are called Manpol (Manchester Police) and then the dogs name.

I think I'm the only one not in IT

Bob

I always knew I was CID material (Coppers in disguise), but apparently I didn’t drink enough:D

what sort of people drive a merc?

well according to the muppet in a fiesta who tried to force his way into a parking space I was already half reversed into Mercedes drivers whilst sitting in their cars are all either

1, a complete bunch of wa**ers
2, fu**ing ar****les
3, bas**rds
4, arrogant pr**ks

However when they get out and prove to be 6'3 and attempting to drag the aforementioned muppet through a half closed window they become "mate" as in "sorry mate"

was great to hear him apologise to a 7 year old for using language like that :)

Er not quite but my profession may get more raspberries than yours.... I started off as a VAT Inspector, moved on as a local VAT Fraud investigator before leaving for Arthur Andersen (not a name I use much on my CV anymore). Now a tax director for a US company covering taxes across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Lucrative tho and more interesting than it sounds.

Love my mercedes C180 Avanatgarde SE, now a month old and just love how it quietly motors down the M4 into work.

I'm now 50 so maybe Mercs are an old mans car! but I've been driving them since '82 and I wasn't old then.

Never wanted a Merc but made the mistake of driving one and that's really the end of it. Mind you in '82 it was a choice between a Merc or Rover SD1!

So far all boring cars:
1976 230/4 (W115): remember the one with the vertical headlamps!
1980 280TE (W123): Horrible dark brown but great engine.
1985 230TE (W123): last of the 123's but missing 2 cylinders.
1990 300TE (W124): Fabulous car I still have.
1998 C200 Estate (W202): For work!

After 20 years owning them I am more passionate than ever about them and am about to recruit another collegue to the fold.

Maybe I'll get an SL when I get really old!

Im 23, work as a in a Theater.

All my mates have escorts etc hehehe

32, IT

If it's got an engine (ie <2.5litres) then young IT blokes.

If it's got a huge engine, rich people, under 45

If it lacking in this department, old folk.

Me: C250TD sport(!!)
girly: CE220
father-in-law: C200
Mother-in-law: A160
Rich mate who won the cash: ML55
business partner: C280

Also, why is it that half the people who replyed are in IT ?
Don't we have anything else to do ?

I'm a 23 year old architecture student - I've had my trusty old diesel for five years, and couldn't think of replacing it yet (and never for something else than a Mercedes). I am a passionate enthusiast and I really don't care what people think of "my" brand" - although people do their best to drag it down by mentioning that MB is considered to be the chosen brand for people with less education, MB now experiencing low quality etc...

I never thought that I would ever have a new car let alone a new Mercedes. But as my son says to me, you worked hard for your money, now enjoy it.:D :D

Ha ha, the things you can do with Photoshop. Which one of you put the S class front end onto a Nissan Primera, come on own up :D

Seriously though - Yuk. If you really want to see a beautiful new car take a look at the DB9

Cheers

*gasp* HEATHEN... :D It looks nothing like an S-Class, the headlamps are completely the wrong shape for a start. As for the primera..... pLeeease.

True, the DB9 has stunning performance but the trouble with AM is that they have had no vision since they got stung with the 80's Lagonda (which in fairness was a stunning looking car for it's time). Everything they have produced in the last 10-15 years have all looked the same. (with minor tweaks)

Still, everyone to their own, I still think the CLS is the most beautiful merc ever designed.

Maybe we should start a poll!! ;)
