What the 'L' - New E class - seat button

Picked her up last night, Marlene has been replaced by Mikhaela .... don't ask, the kids like to give my cars a name.
All fine and dandy, new car smell for a week or two but what the flip does the L button on the drivers door do. I pressed it and nothing seemed to happen.
I've checked the manual and Google for answers but have come up with nothing.

Just guessing, but does that heat your ar$e at a lower heat than the button to the right?

I can see that this functionality gives the Driver the option to control the Passengers Seat Heating, BUT I can't think of any situation where it would be required!

Cool feature, my Mrs head is always in the way when I'm trying to see to the left, I could put her seat back/down from my side.

She'd hate that.

That's just reminded me. Years ago I worked with a plasterer on site called Richard Cole. Obviously we always referred to him with shortened version.

Ahh, now I understand, though in my defence the Selection Switch Graphic gives the impression that it's only the Heated Seat that is controlled!
