Hi all :)
My 05' 270 CDI will be requiring a B Service (Mileage will be about 115,000) Its the first service I've had to organise as I only bought the car 3 months ago. It was serviced by Mercedes originally and is full service history.
I can't afford to take it to Mercedes to be done and my local Mercedes 'Specialist', is where I bought it from and I haven't read great reviews about their servicing work from other Mercedes owners.
So what my question is:
If I'm going to take it too a local indie, how can i guarantee a quality service and a service it actually requires and not a "we changed the filters and the oil"
Is there certain equipment they should have?
Access to the Mercedes Online Servicing History?
Should I be asking them to look at anything in particular considering its Mileage?
Will they know what needs doing or will I end up with a "Bit of everything service"?
Cheers Everyone

Were are you based? Your better off taking it to a indie that been recomened on here as people have already tested the water for you.

I don't realy know what is required for a b service, sorry I couldn't of been more help.

Thats OK

:)
Cheers, that'd be great if someone can suggest somewhere!

I use an specialist because my local MB dealer let me down, and Olly did a great job. So if you find a good indie, stick with it.

But price-wise... talk to your local MB dealer. Most will have discounts for older cars. You may find that the price difference between MB and an indie on a service for 7-years old car is actually very small.

Can recommend W.D.M Cars, MSL, Andy Gayle - All specialists in Birmingham. I have been with all of them and the quality of the work is good. All of them have websites for contact details.

Chap at work swears by an indie around the corner from me in Worcester for his E class. I tried them for an electrical issue in my W211, which they couldn't mend (it took MB 3 or 4 weeks to sort, in fairness!), but found them a good bunch. I believe the owner or manager was an MB technician for a long time.

St Johns Garage

I can't access the comments on the reviews bit, no idea why.

Of course, MSL! Depends where you are in Worcs, C180, and how far you're willing to travel. I would certainly second MSL - been there and actually enjoyed a garage visit for once!

I would recommend Andy Gayle too, very fair pricing &
excellent service.

I take it by taking my Car to an Indie garage won't mean anything will necessarily get missed or not done that Mercedes would have done etc
