Any advice please chaps ?

General W208 CLK problems , and any specific to the V8 engine ?

look for oil leak near the oil filler cap .. its the gasket just above .. an l shaped cover (about 6" by about 1.5")

check all electric motors on seats work

check sunroof motor .. try closing it at above 60mph

see if it has the windows that goes up to seal and comes down a bit when you close/open the door

and enjoy the V8 thrust .. that you are quite accustomed to anyway :)

the V8's do suffer from poor lubrication to the top so do check for tap tap tap.. can usually be sorted fairly easily though.

What is the solution to a tap tap jay , if the car i look at should have it ...

Just so i know what i am talking about, should the need arise .

to be honest, Ive only ever had one of those 430's and I think it ended up being a clogged or broken oiler pipe.. Im sure Ollie or Ian would know..

Rusty exhausts, left hand bank from manifold to main tube. The one that runs across the gearbox.

The 430 CLK isn't too bad ...

Light body , big engine ... we see 27 mpg on a run in the blue one , i can live with that.

If i get the one i've got my eye on Karl , i'll be stealing your Ali G crown ;)

No....

Depending on mileage, check to see if the spark plugs have been changed.....expensive job, so factor into the price.
