What tyre size?

i have brought 8 x17 et 33 and 9x17 et 30 wheels for my 1995 e220 coupe.Wot tyre size will fit these rims

I believe 235/45xR17 97W are suitable for your car both front and rear.

Wot about stretched sizes? A slight stretch would be fine as my merc is 40mm lowered all round and will have all arches rolled (front already done)

Not sure how wide you can go to clear front calipers so I wouldn't like to guess.
I had 235X40x18 on my old W210 and it didn't look like there was much more clearance on the fronts for a wider section. The rears might take 255 or 265?

I think you are correct...so not a stretch then which would mean a narrower tyre than the wheel requires.

maybe 225 x 40 these are the wheels and this is my merc

The correct size for your car is...235/45 on the front and maybe 265/40 on the rears.

There is no reason to go smaller...225/40 would be 32mm smaller in diameter and thus wrong for your speedo etc.

A really useful site when deciding what tyres to go for is willtheyfit.com.
Put in a known good combination (e.g. the stock wheel and tyres) and your desired new ones. It will then allow you to compare new with old.

Very helpful when I decided to put some 7.5x17s on my W124.
