Took the dog for a walk today. On the way home I saw what looked like a 2003 or later CLK on a private plate. There were no badges on the boot lid so I couldn't identify it. It had the exact same series 2 curvy one-piece rear lights with a horizontal strip brake light above the 3-star boot logo yet at the front it resembled a series 1 with the upstanding 3-pointed star on the bonnet (unlike the series 2 which is flat) and the front twin lights either side were spaced like a series 1 rather than joined together as in the series 2. It looked like a series 1 front with a series 2 rear. It didn't look new.
What really grabbed my attention, however, was that it had 4 doors. This would be my perfect car - a coupe with 4 doors. The only trouble is I can't identify the model. I've trolled the internet sites and can't find anything like it. The owner wasn't around so I couldn't ask him or her and in many years of walking the dog on that route I've never seen that car before.
Does anyone have any idea what it was?
