Hi,

New to the forum and have just purchased an E55 (which we love).

It came with non standard (I believe) 19 inch 5 spoke AMG stamped alloys. Has anyone seen these before or can you tell me what they are called?

I have attached 2 pictures.

Also I did some reading before buying the car and I'm sure I read that Mercedes only reccomend 2 specific tyres for the car.

My car has Pirelli PZero Rosso on the front and a bridgestone (name escapes me - I think it is a run flat) on the rear. Are these tyres okay or should I be concerned? All help welcome.

Tyres

Great, thanks for he info on the wheels. Tyre wise I was under the impression that the tyres needed strengthened side walls on the E55 to handle the power and torque and Mercedes only 2 brands (I guess for the rear wheels).

I thinlk Conti Sport Contacts was one and the other I can't recall. Can any one confirm his or have I dreamt this up!

If you are going to replace the tyres, I would recommend Michelin PS2, I had Conti,s from OEM factory fitted, but replaced with the PS,2 when they wore out, they for me are a much better tyre, in my opinion, be intrested to hear others opinions

All of the premium manufacturers have an MO fitment, eg Michelin, Continental, Pirelli, etc.

I have just checked and have Pzero Rosso on the front and Bridgestone Potenzas on the rear. I understand that MO tyres aren't a requirement per se but are meant to help the ride.

The best Tyres I've had on any car I have had are on my RX7 - Eagle F1 GSD3 - fantastic road holding. Just checked and they do them for the fronts but couldn't find any of the online websites in the rear size - bummer. Had Toyo T1R on a clio I had some years ago - they were great as well. I too welcome peoples expeiences of different tyres.

I had a set of those of an SL which are now on a 208 CLK... I think they suit the E very well and give it a fat stance.... I bet it rides like a roller skate though!!
