I put this on eBay on Monday and stated it’s not quite ready. I got an offer of £600 this morning that I turned down. I built it to use but I’m going to sell it.
Prices have shot through the roof.

Was driving back from Kent this morning (was in Benenden @Chrishazle) and just coming up to the Dartford Tunnel, when a message popped up on the gantry... over height vehicle detected! (not me!) So all the barriers come down and the lights go red. In front was the biggest lorry with the name of that well known delivery company thats also a rainforest in Brazil :thumb: . It had triggered the over height detection system. Both tunnels had to be temporarily closed to allow the lorry to be escorted to the waiting area. Only a shortish hold up, but the reason for posting was , surely as a driver you would need to know the height of your vehicle?

They have - a mate of mine has been trying to buy a Boardman Hybrid 8.8 so he can cycle to work. His wife said "OK, as long as you make sure the rest of the family have decent bikes too" which turned into a bit of an odyssey. He managed to get a reasonable (but not cheap) s/h bike for one of his daughter from somewhere in London but had to drive to Brighton and back (!) to get one for his wife.

Meanwhile, he's given up on the Boardman for now (none in the UK) and managed to bag a 4 year old Trek 9.3FX. Only problem was it was in Bradford and he had to get it couriered down.....

Mental.

I've been working in Sweden, with Germans, Polish, Latvians, Danish, Swedish and a few other nationalities.

Going to the pubs and restaurants for drinks and meals.

There are at least 4 different companies involved, we all have a lot of projects throughout Scandinavia and Europe, Australia, America and Asia.
We have all been in close contact with each other, all flown through various airports, ferry terminals and land borders in various countries, mingling with other travellers.

We are all exempt from quarantine in our home countries, so we can mingle as we please(subject to country).

Not one report of any employee having the coronovirus from any of the companies on any of the projects, no symptoms reported from any of the companies.......what virus?

So, basically living life as normal.

Apparently, the hottest day so I had a day off from gardening. 😅

Relaxed under the apple tree and absorbed one or three 500ml bottles of Broughton Ales "Old Jock" (6.7%ABV). 🤪

😵

Absolutely stunning that Del. 👍

Used to have a garden a bit like that, took both of us a full day just to cut the grass, downsized 14 years ago and it now takes wife 1/2 hour to cut front and back grass! Still have a nice area to sit out, as we have this evening for dinner, a bottle of Portugese red to wash dinner down, and the footie on the tablet. Lovely relaxing evening!

This week I've been selling stuff on eBay - the bike went on Friday for 311 GBP. So 95% of new price. Which is kind of understandable as it was in remarkably good condition and there are no ne bikes in the UK.

However who someone paid me 88 gbp yesterday for a Logitech iPad keyboard is beyond me - you can get a new one for 100 pounds. Not complaining though.

All that's left is the Weber charcoal bbq. It is sitting at 206 and I've ust been offered 250. I'm going to sit it out as 49 people are watching it and it's had nearly 500 views. That's half what the bike got but still loads.

Before I started all this eBaying I'd have taked that 250. And I nearly took 200 for the bike - glad I didn't.

Now I'm assuming I'll get something beginning with a "3".

Fingers crossed.

Got it back from the LBS yesterday, rode it about for a short while and it’s new owner picked it up this morning. £680 on eBay!! Incredible.

Brilliant :)

I got £265 back for my BBQ in the end. Down a bit but that offest by twice the amount in savings on the gas one I bought from my FIL.

And more to the point I can actually use it!! I've had 4 x very successful meals in the first week of gas compared to 1 x success and 5 x abject failures in the year I had the charcoal one.

I'm obviously not cut out for charcoal.
