Let's hear it for a friend's granddaughter, Millie Coltherd, 17, from Selkirk. This is her debut single being released in January, a cover version of Carlene Carter's "Every little Thing".

How many racehorses did Dad have to sell to pay for that backing band? ;) And what happened to the 12 string guitar player at the beginning? Joking aside- seems a nice kid-- needs to be a bit more professional in her video performance approach tho - a bit too much "hair fiddling" for a recorded session for example and what that song demands is a bit more of what might best be described as "attack"* That said it takes a lot to get up on stage and perform and she is just starting out so I wish her all the best.

Exploring the demolitions industry through the dismantling of the granite-faced Marischal College in Aberdeen.

Just listened to this on BBC Radio 4 Extra. Really enjoyed it - a fascinating insight into the demolition/reconstruction business. One for the Scots - the stonemason's accent is just wonderful. Kind of bloke I'd like to share a pint or two with one evening.
