Car
CL500
Hi

I'm thinking of advertising my 2006 CL500 and would like some informed advice re a realistic price for my car. Car has a genuine 7600 mileS from new and is immaculate. Full MB service and all MOT's. keyless go etc
Would like to have some advice before I decide
Thanks

Hi is that 7,600 or 76,000:confused:, if it is 7,600 its a very low mileage for a 7 year old car at just under 1,100,00 miles per year

Hi bazzerYes, it's a genuine 7600 miles with all Mercedes docs and mot'd to prove it.
Car was owned, previous to me, by a chap who used it for a Sunday run with his wife!...
That's the difficulty in valuing my car. Nothing close to it for sale. Certainly worth a lot more than the suggested £10 k.

Hi
Very difficult decision to price as the mileage is extremely low but its a 2006 model, I think if it were me, I would take it to my local Mercedes franchise and ask them for a price, at least you would have a starting point, you don't need to accept their offer but you will get an idea of its probably worth.
With this genuine low mileage, you should have no problem in selling it.:thumb:
Hope this helps.

£9-10k seems to be the asking price for a 2006 CL500 with normal mileage.

It all hinges on finding someone willing to place the extra value on the exceptionally low mileage...you could wait a very long time for that person, and even then it's debatable whether they'll pay "a lot more". The car simply isn't old enough or special enough to support it.

Is it not too old for a MB dealer?
They don't seem to want to touch cars after a certain age regardless.

People seem to expect top money for high milers, so does being a low miler make it that much more valuable?

What colour is it please?

The low mileage doesn't make a difference.
I just sold my 2001 c230k coupe with a genuine 14k miles . The best offer ..£1050 . I had to take it as I was leaving the country at the time. :(

Thanks for all the comments and advice gents. Suppose, as stated, it's worth what someone is prepared to pay. I have a lot of money invested in the car so if price not right then it will be staying with me. I disagree with the comments that the mileage is not important, try telling that to some cocky salesman when you take in a high mileage!S88, don't know what the colour is classed as but it's a metallic silve/ sand colour, if that makes sense? Lol

Where are you based ? Try Vanrooyen in Warrington they may be able to offer you a good price.

Hi tonySadly I am a complete technophobe and I'm not sure how to upload photos onto the site?
May ask my 12 year old daughter to help out her old dad! Lol

Thanks, as you will appreciate most MB are "silver" and not my favourite however the Cubanite silver is more gold/beige colour. Which I would be prepared to put up with!

When you say a lot of money invested in the car, is that what it cost you or continuing repairs!
Its a bit like the adverts that say " this car cost 70K brand new etc and now only peanuts" still does not make it a bargain.

If you look at two identical cars at a dealer one with low miles and one with higher miles there will be little difference in the price asked. Strange but true.

that mileage its only just run in, if I had the money id buy it , it wld be like buying a new car !

The car is Cubanite silver...thanks for that S88...was on the tip of my tongue! lol
The car cost me a lot of money but, and scared to say it, but hasnt had any problems since i bought it,.
I will try and post some pictures but as stated, Im a technophobe

7 year old rubber is still 7 year old rubber. Bushes and tyres.

I take it the tyres have been changed since new? They have a shelf life of around 5 years before they start to go.

Just one example.

I am sure it being only 7600 miles from new is great, but you still have to factor in some things that you wouldn't with a 35k mile example.

Its a 7 year old car. CL 500's can be a mighty expensive car to repair if anything goes wrong.- engine -suspension- electrics This will limit the market you can sell to. Because you are a private seller put yourself in the buyer's shoes for the moment - price the car then knock of £2-2.5k for "potential " repairs and you begin to see how the trade gets a figure of £10k. You may have the V8 with the timing chain/balancer shaft gear issues for example. They are nice cars but don't have that "cachet" that a CLS has for example. :dk:

Not sure about that, I always see the CL as a step up the CLS.

I think the only problem with the 500 is it is not a 55.
