Have you checked parkers etc for a 'guide'?
Or have a look on autotrader etc at what others are selling for?

Probably get the best price for it in a few months - cabriolets are not big sellers in the snow tbh! ;)

Good luck getting it sold. :)

they seem to sell on autotrader from anything from 14k to 19k.... prices seem to vary dramically, hence my question of what is it realistically worth.. i think a lot depends on the options it has; which i believe it is more or less fully loaded

it is fully loaded and in mint condition so i would hope for top price

Good idea to start higher and work down. But I would discourage waiting too long for a sale once the summer starts.

Remember, the most expensive cars rarely sell. Most buyers pick out the cheap cars first, even if they are not as good! :(

Perhaps ring a few of the advertised ones and see if they have actually sold?

If you get stuck - give ebay a go. Many people (me included) look at cars on ebay. At least with the extra space available you can go into much more detail and offer photographs to show the cars condition and specification?

Plus you would have the benefit of nationwide coverage. Quite often, people from down south buy cars from up north as the prices can be cheaper.

Good Luck,

MILEAGE: 74,000

how much is it worth?

Wait for the spring to kick in and pray that there is some early sun. Last year
the convertible market sucked so bad it just hurt. I got a 5K reduction on my SL because the dealer had bought it in Feb for a client and the deal fell through. after that he couldn't get anyone interested (I bought it in September). I had one call in three weeks to view my car and it was going cheap (11K vs 13K for the other MR2s) If we get another summer like that you might as well keep the car otherwise you will end up giving it away :(

yeah last summer was crap - which kind of makes me want to keep the CLK cabrio until next year as i only purchased it last march but i need something that i can take the family out in, and the clk just isnt practical. however i could "get by" for another year, but part of me wants that S class :)

Glass's guide:
99T mileage adjusted:
trade= 13600
retail=16100

This does not take into account any extras...Hope this help a little

Can anyone with a copy of glasses guide tell me what mine is worth please?

It is an 04 (May) c180k Classic SE with metallic paint (silver!) and Automatic but not leather. 9K miles. Perfect condition.

Cheers

Splang

assuming it is a saloon and facelift:
trade 15325
retail 17625

Having recently brought a CLK cab and having spent many weeks looking around for 1 i personally would say it worth about £16-17k. Makes no difference that its not a facelift. I personally would remove your mods, you won't get any money back for these if you sell it but you would get your money back if you took them off and sold them privately. Leave the sat nav cause that will make you some money.

In my experience of shopping around i didn't see one under £15k, there were a few battered looking ones with high mileage at around £15.5 but realistically prices started at £16k.

Your car would be on a dealers forcourt at £17-£18k and they would of probably paid about £13-14k for it.

sorry to jump on to thw wagon

sorry to jump on to the wagon but the amount of problems that i have been having i am thinking that it is not worth keeping the car can anyone tell me what mine is worth?

2001 clk cab avantgaurd (y reg)
36000 miles on it full dealer history
leather, heated seat, 18'' alloys and tracker

We all believe our cars are worth 'top dollar' they are clearly well looked after and come with many options. However we are private sellers and do not offer a warranty or any type of 'after sales service', we sell 'as seen'. So surely it might be a bit ambitous to seek a top retail price that perhaps a main dealer might ask.

Hi Don,
I must confess to being bias here. I think your car looks beautiful and the options will definitely help sell it.

I would do precisely what other members have recommended.

Look through the online Autotrader for cars with a similar spec and contact the sellers solely to see if they have sold. Do not listen to any of the sellers 'sales talk' though.

If cars are selling then I would price mine competively, if they are not selling then I would perhaps wait a month or two. What has the main dealer offered for the car, and would there be room for negotiation if you bought the S-class from them? Would you buy the S-class from a dealer or buy privately? Obviously if it is a private purchase 'cash talks'.

My post was certainly not a criticism of anyone, particularly your good self (you have not posted a price). My post was an observation because I sometimes read adverts where private sellers are asking for similar prices as those of their main dealer.

Good luck selling your VERY nice car,
John
