What's that in my Glove Box?

Decided to read my Handbook yesterday, (Even though I'm a bloke and we don't do such things)

In the Glove Box, on the Roof there is a white Knob Type thing with a Hole in it, it can be turned 90 Degrees, but doesn't appear to Switch anything on or off!

It's creamy/off white and looks vaguely like a mushroom stuck to the Roof by it's domed top!

Anyone tell me what the Feck it is?

Maybe it closes the AC duct into the glovebox? (If your car has said feature)

OOOhhh, I've never properly looked in my glovebox even though I've had the car for almost 2 years. I wonder if I've got one. I'll have to look.

(Good luck with reading the handbook. So many 'cautions' and 'bewares' in there that I've only managed about 1/3 of it)

Yes I have got one too. I seem to remember reading (maybe in the handbook) that the glove compartment was air conditioned, so, as clk320x says, maybe it's the vent. It seems to have a hole in it??

I learn something every day with this car.

It is the air conditioning for the glove box. I can vouch for the fact that it will keep a drink tepid for ages.
