hi what do peeps think is the best car wax out on the market.p.s. looking for one that keeps black bummper trim black and not all wax marks evrtwhere.

Are you looking for a wax or a polish ?

I like Collinite wax.......

Have to say having seen pictures on Deailing world and those guy (some of them) spend a small fortune on wax / polish etc I'm more than happy with the autogym range.

Good enough for Aston Martin good enough for me :)

Easy to apply / remove. Great shine / water beading / cheap.

Any wax that you use on the paintwork isn't going to work particularly well on black bumper trim , you need a seperate product.

Harly Wax for the paintwork though.

Mer on the paintwork and Back to Black on the bumpers

i defently recommend dodo juice.Use there wax, and then use Zaino sealent it leaves an unbelievable finish!!obviously theres a bit more to it but hey!!lol!

Have you ever used a premuim product??

Most people who use autoglym super resin polish and dont even apply a wax afterwards, autoglym AFAIK have only recently launched a wax.

Whilst the autoglym SRP can give decent results its full of fillers which tend to mask flaws in the paint rather than remove them

Back to the op

As for a wax for general purpose i would suggest Collinite or Mothers Carnuaba wax neither are that expensive and last ages

For bumper trim mothers naturally black or Swissvax plastic wash and then plastic protection will keep the trim looking nice

I'm not a valater by the way but am a bit ocd about keeping my cars nice :)

Another vote for Collinite.

I've heard on another forum that Johnson's baby oil is good at keeping bumpers black. I can imagine that it can turn into a huge mess if you apply to much. I've never tried it nor seen the results so I can't vouch for it. Has anyone tried this?

I thought all waxes left white marks on black bumpers......

Of course, if the car has body colour trim the problem goes away.

Me... apart from a hard wax twice a year (with whatever wax the valeting service at the airport car park have chosen because of it's excellent finish / ease of use / downright cheapness) I use whatever the local jet-wash is using......

Oh..... and I've found far better uses for Johnson's baby oil than on car trim ........

:D

polishes are worse at leaving the white marks on bumpers than waxes but yes they will all mark black plastic , you just need to be careful

We always used to use clean engine oil on plastic years ago , makes them look shiny like baby oil with but wont last as long as a proper product
