whats the latest on v6 harmonic balancer

read about it on a us site and its been discuss here a few times but the treads has gone cold! just check my car got the bad batch HB and rang the dealer up, he told me there is no recall for this call and i ask him about it and he told me to dismiss the us site!
has anyone had luck with warrentee claim?
whats the part number for the new one and how much?
how much does a indi charge to fit it?

1.5 hours labour

£35 for the part (excl. replace belt)

however needs a £90 merc tool to do the job

i paid £300, got ripped off but at least i hadn't worn through the engine block / oil sump and the car was turned around in 24 hours
