I'll give you £5k for it!! Ha ha

Who knows at the moment, in normal times you'd say £15k to £17k if if has a truly FULL service history, i.e every year not every 10k miles, but the earlier ones don't seem to be as valuable as the later ones, and also ,these cars really haven't been selling in the past 6 - 8 months if you have been keeping an eye on autotrader.

A lot depends on the condition, how you prepare it, and how you market it, expensive and special cars need to be marketed with care to achieve their maximum value, lots of people seem not to realise this, dirty wheels in pics etc are a real turn off.

My best guess would be £12500 - £15,000. But why sell it - it would take you years to find another low mileage one and it is unlikely to depreciate from here. The cost to keep it is a few hundred pounds a year; ie nothing.

I have also noticed a few on autotrader for a long time - but on the other hand there have been less than ten e320 cabs for sale nationally - it is not like there is a glut of supply - its what makes me think the values will start to climb over the next few years for the good ones - "they dont make them anymore!"

At anything like over 10k these cars seem very expensive to me. Admittedly they are soon to be classics but still a bit young for that? Who are these people spending 15k on W124 cabrios?

I mean a coupe in nice condition might be pushing 3k? Seems a lot more for a fabric roof.

its the fact that fabric roof is retracted makes the money

a 27k mile E320 coupe would be quite a bit more than 3 grand!

A 27k mile W124 could reasonably be expected to perform almost like a new one if it has been properlyl ooked after, therefore, someone with deep pockets who has a particular soft spot for these cars would pay a significant amount of money for it, it's these people that keep all of these Mercedes "specialists" in business.

£12995-£14995 all day long if advertised in the right places.

Ironside has a virually identical one in terms of age and miles for £21k!!!!!

It is a 320CE rather than an E320 cabrio, It is pre-facelift with the black bumpers and the full grill. These are not as sort after as the later post-facelift versions. Heated electric seats are sort after, but I see no mention of air-con/climate which makes a big difference to values.
With the nice low mileage and in that colour I think you will be lucky to see 13k in the current market. Azurite blue and blue/black are the top selling colours for these.
One of the specialist dealers may be a good bet to sell it to, as they will ask a high price if the mileage can be verified.
Good luck.

Mr Boss-why not just keep the car. Unless its causing trouble its not really costing you much money and if its so "cherished" then you'll soon regret parting with it.

I never get car ads that say I am selling my "beloved/cherished/special to me" car. If it was that beloved/cherished/special to you you wouldn't be selling it, unless you couldn't afford to keep it. Looking at your other cars I reckon she is one of the cheaper ones on your fleet, so enjoy it for high days and holidays.

hello

Hi guys. thank you for the replies thus far.

She is mechanically sound and upto date, any AA or RAC inspection will confirm this.

Why do i want to sell her?? Put simply, she is the oldest of my UK cars, i have a bunch of 123s out in Africa which i love, however, I know this car belongs to a collector. Im not a collector, im just a fantasist, thus the right buyer with the right home is where she should maybe go.

Car is very tidy, sure some marks etc, but otherwise, this car is extremely rare and suited.

I beg to disagree about the pre facelift being less in demand. I think it is equal between the cabrios post facelift and the cabrios pre facelift. I chose mine becasue of the bolder grill and rare aspect to age, whilst others might like the soft look of the facelift.

persoanl choice eh lol

You need to clean it. Take some decent photographs, and then get your story straight as to why you're selling it. Advertise for £12k, and it'll sell, eventually. Put it up for 15 and it might, but it'll need proper presentation, and you'll have to wait much longer.

It's not a seller's market, even for these cars. Yours doesn't have the best spec, although it does have mileage in its favour. Having said which, the majority of good 124cabs for sale have low mileage. They were often bought as third cars, and mileages below 30k are not uncommon by any means.

Oh, and get those two missing MOTs. If the dealer can provide a printout to confirm them, then why don't you already have it? It's that kind of thing that suggests a less than meticulous seller

Ray has owned a W124 Cabriolet and also been a Concours judge with the MBOC so worth listening to!

Hi

The mercedes dealer, Speeds of Stratford / County Garages has details on their old system, but they have no way to print of the info as it was on an old system etc..

I have tried.. but they have verified they did the first few MOTs etc, but they can no longer Print of the details

im still trying to obtain them though :)

Can't find any 300CE Cabriolets among the dozens listed in the MB Club Gazette small ads over the past several years (which I have as a spreadsheet). Over the past nine months the E320 Cabs have an average around £9k, dipping to £4.5k for one with weak bodywork declared at 125k, and rising to £14k for one with 82k on the clock (mileage range of those included: 64k to 130k). Note: "asking prices".

Sorry but I disagree about the mileage - it is not that easy to find a very low mileage (under 40k) e320 cab - they do come up but there are not that many.

When I said "Not uncommon", that is to be taken relatively. I know of five W124 convertibles for sale with 30k miles or fewer. Three of those are E220's though.

but..

hi guys.

depending on ones point of view, is it true that the original pre facelift cabrio is more rarer than the post facelift, which seemed to get saturated with more e220s and e320, and thus a lower mileage pre facelift such as mine has more value. colour and combination is ones personal choice, i personally love it, a great colour is malacite green, and so unique and special, that Porshce have just relaunched this colour on their little Porsche thing.. lol
