What's the worst car you've driven in high winds?

Suzuki 1.3 carry. Tips over just going around corers and the engine is under the driver seat so there is no weight over the front wheels at all, turn too sharply or go over leafs and kiss good bye to steering. Also it must be at least two times higher than its width and the tyres are only a little wider than a wheel barrow. In any kind of wind, especially unloaded, not fun at all...

Just like the Hamster did. Man with a van challenge part 2 - Top Gear - BBC - YouTube

I served my time at dealers where one of the brands was Reliant, the 3 wheelers were a great laugh at all times not just in the wind. You should try putting one on hydraulic ramp! The worst worst car I have driven in wind recently is a Chrysler Grand Voyager

i don't know about you all...

But my w202 c230k doesn't fair very well in high winds anymore...

I think it have to do with my shocks being worn to the bone, but just wondering.

I know its not a car but an artic isn't the best thing in strong high winds. I usually take a spare pair of boxers when the weather bad like today lol

I was out in the Impreza today, a car that normally shrugs off most kinds of weather conditions - wind, ha! - water - what's aquaplaning ? - snow - OK, maybe I'll slow down a little. Only a little, mind.

I was happily blatting down an A road that I do on a regular basis, went past a large building onto an open section that has only some some sparse (at this time of year) hedging to protect it and found myself forced gently but firmly towards the other side of the road. An equally gentle but firm correction on the wheel was all that was necessary, but it did make me think "hmm.. that's a bit blowy".

Glad I wasn't out in a high-sided vehicle..

Cheers,

Gaz

Years ago, l drove a LWB Transit over the Forth Road Bridge. If anyone wants a cure for constipation, l thoroughly recommend it. Only a mistake if you do it a second time!

My new Smart was rather "interesting" in the wind on last nights mortorway journey.

my box luton sprinter. Its like a large brick traveling at 60 mph at the best of times. With a high wind its like a sail boat without a center board / keal.

Bedford Rascal - I used to deliberately carry weight in that before crossing our viaduct because it used to like to try and be a motorcycle in even not too strong a wind!

The first Sierras were notorious for crosswind instabilty -Ford had to add rubber strips to the sixth light window to fix it
I am not sure what mod if any they did to estate
Still shocking that a multi billion pound corporation can poorly engineer a car with such a major flaw tick boxed for production:eek:
Just look up the Ford Pinto if you get a few spare minutes. ;)

'69 Volkswagon bus

Scary transport in light breezes.

If passed by a "Semi" (Lorrry) class 8 diesel tractor/trailer, the Bus would be
sucked out of it's own lane sideways and pulled by the Vacuum behind the
Truck as it flew past.

Prius. Crosswinds make them wobble.
