What's up with this part #?

So I was browsing through the net for rear AMG badges for my car. I obviously was looking for genuine badges and came across this part number which is being advertised by many vendors. The issue is, this part number is being used to sell different badges. In fact, I came across even a hood ornament and trunk star with this number.

Is it that difficult to find period correct AMG badge for our cars?

Note, part # starts with 222 so I am guessing this badge is mainly (but not specific) to the S Class W222. Bu here is the product I was looking at advertised with the same part number and NO WAY it's being offered for the W222.

Other parts being sold with same number. Ebay doesn't think there's anything wrong with it, I reported it and they came back and said it doesn't violate anything.

Here's the funny part, I decided to order it for sh**s and giggles and got a completely different part LOL
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the new AMG logo never came on the W220

So the dumb bum sends out another one and claims it's the "correct part" this time. Today it arrived and boom, it's the same part that doesn't match any of the seller's descriptions.

I've noticed that about badging on eBay, particularly MB stuff.
A nice Mercedes label with an official part number....which appears on multiple different badges. The conclusion I came to was a large percentage of them are fakes.

When I ordered a new badge from Mercedes for the C55, the badge came as CLS550
Apparently, Mercedes doesn’t do just C55 badge.
Hopefully, they didn’t just order one from eBay and sold it to me as a genuine part

Fake badges will start to go cloudly/milky after a couple of months, false economy buying cheap, virtually all on eBay etc are fake.

Apparently, Mercedes doesn’t do just C55 badge.
Hopefully, they didn’t just order one from eBay and sold it to me as a genuine part

Same here when I wanted a badge for my SL55. Straight from the MB dealer.

Same for me, a C43 badge comes as "CLK 430".

However, it was exactly the same when I worked for a dealer in period, and nothing new.
