Hi all,

I found a place very near me that has a John Bean wheel alignment system and they said they would do a free check on my dads W211, just had this done earlier.

The chap said the front toe is miles out but he also stated that the front and rear camber is within spec and there is no point touching it.

I've attached the report done (before an after is same as no work was done) and to me the front camber is way out of spec and to a degree so is the rear and rear toe.

Now the price he's quoted for front adjustment is reasonable but I don't want any premature wear if the camber's need adjusting too.

Any advice at all?

Tracking is the least of your problems.... I'm not to fussed with the OSR camber being a bit light but the front cambers are way to deep, in addition why didn't they measure the castor angle?

Hi,

I did mention the caster and they said it wouldn't have an effect on the alignment.

They stated the front camber is non adjustable but when I queried about camber bolts they said it is possible but not required....

Is the rear toe and camber's actually adjustable on the W211's?

The car has been checked out by a MB Specialist and they have given it the thumbs up so I am a bit unsure why the camber figures are that far out.

Granted that these figures are done on the old tyres and they are heavily worn on the inside so it may have an effect on the figures.

How old is this car and how many miles. I suspect spring sag is the reason for the front camber being out.

Car is 2006 with 110k on the clock.

MBS Southampton inspected the car and they made no comments about sagging suspension :S

I would fit new springs, they will fail sometime soon-ish anyway.
Measure the ride height before and after and I suspect there will be a difference.

I would if it was my car but as its my dads and with MBS giving it the thumbs up I'll never be able to persuade him to fit new springs unless they are snapped....

I personally think the front end does sit rather low but as a few other cars are similar profile my old man puts it down to being "normal"

You clearly need some bargain price 16" Ankaa wheels - you could wear out those brand new tyres GSD3 while you sort it out.

I took a image of the car side on today,
