Best advice is look for someone who has Hunter 4 wheel alignment equipment, but even then, they need to know how to use it. Not sure I'd entertain Halfords for anything no matter what equipment they had.

As above, it needs someone who knows what they are doing with a Hunter 4 wheel alighnment set up. One or two tyre fitting outfits like Protyre have the equipment to do the job but it does depend on the operator. I wouldn't entertain Halfords for wheel alignment:eek:

Thank you so much for the suggestions. Halfords is not an option any more. Any recommendations in or around Manchester?

The best place is wheels-inmotion, a bit far away for you, but I recall Tony on the forum saying he could recommend places if he was to far away for anyone, might be worth an email?

I wouldn't take a car to Halfords' to have the ash tray emptying, after my experience with them.
Anything I don't do myself (and that includes 4-wheel alignment), I trust Rodley Motors of Bradford, who I have used for 35 years.
They are close to the Bradford end of the M606.

Put your postcode into this site www.alignmycar.com ..... This will find the nearest place to you that uses a machine best suited to the MB. Actual understanding of their information it displays is another thing. I will however give them a call personally for you to see if they know what needs to be done. Just offer a link.

Paul Whighton at Dury Lane Motors in Oldham did my CLK for me after I fitted new control arms. He has the Hunter set up and knows his stuff, well know in the motor sport game for setting up race car geometry.

I've taken mine and my dad's to Kwik fit. And on both occasions got decent service. You get to see the alignment on the screen and they will come back with a report to tell you.
