Thanks guys
The following Thursday after completing the work i caught something in the road on the A12 and it knocked the pessenger splash guard loose. I have never hit anything in that fashion so for this to happen 6 days after doing the work make one a true believer in s0ds law.

Look how clean it is though! All the damage was cause by the wind catching it and rubbing against the tyre for a only a few miles until i could come off at Boreham and take it off with the little tool set i keep in the car.
I got straight down the local scrap yard who found a crappy one they had to dig out of the mud for a few quid to protect the hard work and then got on to Merc Newcastle who whisked me a genuine replacement by the Tuesday. I didn't take any pics of the new one but here is the scrap one after a trip through the part wash.

Notice the little one inch mud flap missing, it wasn't the right part but done the job over weekend in keeping everything else clean.
