CLK230K (2001)
Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone can help?

My CLK is in mint condition, apart from the grotty rusty wheel bolts that really let the car down!

Someone on ebay is flogging 16 x chrome alloy bolts for £33, which seems like a good deal to me.....however, before I go & buy a pack of 16 potentially useless bolts, does anyone know if they will fit?

They are 60 degree conical seat bolts, with a 26mm thread, claimed to be for C class, CLK and SLK!

Any help very much appreciated...alternative is taking one off car & measuring it!!??

Thanks

David

A piece of sandpaper and a tin of silver paint will bring your bolts up for less than a fiver....less hassle. Measure first, just to be safe and check whether they are 12mm or 14mm bolts.

Hi David,

I'd check those bolts if I were you - I'm pretty sure the bolts you need will have a radiused seat, not tapered/conical.

Wheel bolts for CLK 230K

Hi Ecossebev & Will,

Thanks for your comments....just checked & bolts are not conical & also measured the thread & they are 24mm, not 26mm! That could have made an interesting noise/vibration at best - damage at worst!?!?!?!

Hmm, I see a visit to the DIY centre for a can of hammerite - good call & avoided a bit of financial damage (the initial £30 odd quid), plus also some gouged disks or goodness knows what!!?!?!?!? :(

Thanks guys - yet another great help from MBClub UK members!

Cheers

David
