Hi everyone - I have owned my 204 C63 coupe for about three months. All good and very glad that I bought it, for a host of reasons. However I remain unsure about the black wheels (the car is silver) The wheels themselves are fantastic and absolutely unmarked but I'm not especially keen on black, especially with that silver band that they have around the rim. So my question is whether any of you have had your wheels repainted. I am not even sure whether black to silver is actually feasible but if anyone has done it, I'd be really interested to hear about it. Apologies if this has already been covered in the past - I did search, but maybe not well enough.
Thanks in advance
Ian

Anything is possible.. I used Premier Wheels in Redhill, Surrey to have my wife's AMG wheels stripped, repaired (scuffed and chipped rim edges) powder coated Black, then Diamond cut, then lacquered.. They look brand new.. Very professional service, and when I dropped my car off, (they remove and refit/ balance your tyres) they had a McLaren in to have the wheels painted.. Which was confidence inspiring £110 per wheel inc vat.. Took 2 Days (left car there,) you can drop just the wheels off if you happen to have spares or a car lift.. Highly recommended.
Before scuffed and mono silver... After black and diamond cut.20210421_114339.jpg20210511_113116.jpg

Thanks John - blimey, that is absolutely phenomenal work!. I'm in North Yorks so the practicalities of getting down to Surrey might be too challenging. However, you have let me know what is possible so I will do a bit more research around wheel specialists up here (and if anyone is able to recommend someone delivering this level of work in Yorks/Lancs, I'd be very grateful to hear). Thanks again (and nice colour choice!)

Belated welcome, Ian, yep I agree not keen on Black wheels meself, you can't go wrong with a nice bright Silver,
(although I did experiment with red) .
Any decent wheel shop should do a good job, and get them Powder Coated not painted, it's much better. :) 👍

Never thought about this .................Can a wheel be powdered coated in eg a colour of choice and then the face diamond cut in order to give a dual effect as per John 757 example. (Most places spray paint and then diamond cut).

Don't see why not.

Thanks Ian, it lifts the look of the car and makes it look newer., It is possible to send them your wheels, and they will post them back if you cannot find a local specialist. Diamond cutting required a large wheel lathe and OE manufacturers CNC codes.. so not every shop can do it. They also repair the damaged edges with ally weld rather than filler, and check straightness, and can re straighten out of true wheels.... cannot praise them highly enough..
you can see all the processes they do here.
Premier Wheels
I believe any colour wheel is an option.

I was also in the same situation so I took the plunge....I refurbished (powder coat) from original black with diamond cut to a silver (no diamond cut)....see pics...Hope this helps. The silver I used was slightly gunmetal.

That's nice! I really like that, so thanks for posting. It is good to know that this is definitely an option - I'll do some checking now as to which wheel specialists up North have a good reputation. Cheers
