I have a set of AMG two-piece alloy wheels which are in need of a tidy up.

With the lips, whats the best to go for? Polished/polished with clear coat/chrome? Just want something with relatively easy maintenance and is going to last.....

Assume powder coating is best for the centres/barrels?

Any recommendations in or around London/Essex?

Thanks in advance :)

One of the biggest and best refurbisher of wheels is Lepsons, across the river in Kent. Strongly recommended as a quality player in a market full of cowboys:

Alloy Wheel Refurbishment & Repair Experts | Lepsons

When you think of the stress that wheels go through over 50,000 miles, it's amazing what good quality wheels can achieve.

As for style, well that's all down to personal taste, so I can't contribute to that conversation.

I use wheelworx in colchester, good prices and good finish.

Yes, I've read in the past countless times that Lepsons have been mentioned - so will be giving them a call :)

Thanks

Thanks Alps :)

Went past your neck of the woods to pick the wheels up! ;)

Lepsons are pretty good, been going for a good while too - but not the best or best value I have come across, better than most though.

Unfortunately the very best wheel refurbisher I have used has now ceased trading (Pristine in Milton Keynes). Have never seen better work from anywhere. Sadly I only got to use them once for two sets of wheels. Not sure who I would use in future now!

This is the problem, i want a good finish, without paying over the odds :)

Waiting for Lepsons and Wheelworx to come back to me.

You can also give these people a call. They're in Dunmow, just off M11.

They do work for Mercedes main dealers but will work directly with customers too. Did an excellent job for me a few years back.

Yes BJV are pretty good.

They are great value and good enough for 95% of wheels, I have probably had about twenty sets done there over the years.

I only used Pristine as I was taking £11k worth of wheels to be refinished to factory standard and wanted the very best - not sure many places will compete with their work sadly. The surface finish of the diamond cutting at Pristine and some of their specialist processes I haven’t seen to the same standard elsewhere. They were one of a kind

Not Essex, but London:

Used them a few times and they are very good.
