E Class
Hi fellow enthusiasts, I’ve just washed my pre owned E Class after 11 days of ownership and am slightly annoyed that on very close inspection of the lovely aluminium wheels there are one or two scuffs near the wheel nut holes. Obviously someone wasn’t being careful when taking off the wheels. Is there anything on the market place I can buy to cover these small scuffs, or at least prevent them getting worst. All I can think of is applying a little clear varnish to stop the weather getting in!

As always very grateful for any advice

Thanks
Neil

Do you have a photo of the scuffed wheels?

I have to admit it’s more of a blemish than anything, I just noticed close up the surface has been disrupted, I have tried to rub off what looks like very minor corrosion and covered it with a clear lacquer. Will try to post some pics, I might then be accused of being picky !

Only way is refurb ,I done these myself, 1 hour per wheel

Very nice, how did you do that, the refurb looks brilliant 👍👍👍
First time doing diamond cut wheels, have done normal alloys before, you need 4" sander £29 of Ebay polishing discs ,600 wet and dry ,1000 wet and dry theres plenty of vids on Ebay, I will send you some info later works out about £50 for 4 alloys and then you have lots of material over,I am just waiting to lacquer my 4 wheels then put them on my car, then I will refurb the orther 4

This should help ,watch the video a couple of times, then take your time if you have the tyre on let it down ,are yours diamond cut cheapest quote was £400 to get them recut ,I am just recovering from a fractured pelvis from 6 weeks ago just started to get on my feet ,so cant do any thing with my alloys

Fantastic Basa, mine only have two very small imperfections but your advice is most welcome for the future. Well done on a really excellent job 👍👍👍

Painting with clear coat wont hide it,, if its gone dull . But it will stop the corrosion from getting any worse .I would take the car in to a wheel refurb shop .Get them done right .. You play with them, and you will never be happy .
