Wheel Weight Residue

Hi Guys,

Just had 4 new tyres, and of course new balancing weights....problem is, where they removed the old weights there is a black stripe where the glue is still stuck to the alloy.

Any suggestions on removing without marking the alloys?

I used white spirit but it still took quite a lot of rubbing.

Tardis will remove the residue without effecting the appearance of the wheel.

WD-40 if you leave it for 10 mins.

Any tar and glue rempver like Tardis or Rapide will work. If you've not any, petrol or white spirit will work.

^+1 petrol straight off,or perhaps a little safer lighter fuel.

Thanks for all the replies, will give it a go when the weather allows probably with lighter fuel
