I have purchased from ebay an AMG wheel, where there is normally a hole for the valve, there is a? gizzmo branded with the MB star (on the inside of the rim),I presume it is from a pressure sending/monitor, it looks as if I will be able to remove it no problem.
My question is....once removed, will the hole in the wheel be of a standard size? to take a standard valve. I am unable to upload photographs.
Thanks in advance for your help:)

Why bother removing it? That said I can't believe MB would make AMG alloys with different sized valve holes?

Hi,Thanks for the reply.
There looks to be no workings to the valve,ie,no valve as such. Not having had run flats or tye monitors I am unsure as to what is normal

Ask yourself this: when a new tyre is fitted, where do they put the air in?

Not with you on this one. There is what looks like a valve body, but without any valve springs and rubber. My question was,and still is, if I remove the 'gizzmo' will the hole be of a standard size. Asking my self the above question does not give me an answer.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

OK. Is there another hole where a valve would be fitted, or just the one with the gizmo?

I have the tyre pressure sensors removed and normal valves fitted to my wheels without any problems. The hole size was not an issue. So if what you have is a tyre pressure sensor, you should be ok. Mel.

As above the alloy you have bought has a TPMS sensor on it. This can be removed and a normal valve fitted.

No,just the one with the gizzmo. Perhaps my description was a little vague. The valve comes through a hole in the wheel, the gizzmo is attached to the inside the rim and is the size of a small lighter.
The posts below yours answer my question. Thanks again.

Hi, thanks for the above. A simple question to some, however, its not very often one gets to see the wheel without a tyre. The wheel is in good nick,I would have had to return it if it meant purchasing a run flat, or some other special fitment.
I can now have a tyre fitted and send my others for reburbishing.

Hi Mel,
Got it in one old boy.Tyre pressure sensor, narrows its function much better than 'gizzmo' Thanks again.
