RIP Edd China!

Wheeler dealers without Mr China is not wheeler dealers...

the show is over for me :(

I've watched the series and thought it was very good. Ant really knows his stuff.

Watching it as i am posting this and it is just another good UK show that has been Americanised and dumbed down for the masses , which i suppose where the money is :rolleyes:.

Wind tunnels (seriously) , bespoke fibreglass (poorly fitting) ad-ons , too much waffle and not enough dirty hands for me i am afraid which is the way the old WD was heading anyway so no change there.

Nice car though , especially with the OZ rims.

It seems now to be norm that they offer the car back to the original owner , they did it with the SEC in an earlier series.

Mazda RX7 also sold back to previous owner, and a Porsche (one that ‘looks the same reversing as going forward’ can’t remember which one)

Not seen it, but I'm guessing it's a Porsche 914.

I will have to wait until on quest.
There is a lack of decent car repair/restore programs, why not another car SOS yet.

WD made just under 3k ‘profit’ on the Porsche.

Smart way of getting your car restored cheaply if you don’t want to do any work yourself!

Ed must charge about £2.50 ph labour.

I enjoy WD and thought the new version is just as good as the old stuff. It seemed very unprofessional of Edd to just walk out without giving the WD team opportunity to transition over a longer period and the hatemail (tweets) that Mike got was seriously uncalled for.

I think things were not good between the presenters well before the end of last series, too many sarky comments and MB doing some of the work.

Watched last night and not as bad as I thought it was going to be but waste of time and money changing wheels and fitting spoiler, looks like the 5k cost included the cost of hiring the wind tunnel.

Will wait and see before binning this series, too early to say.

Two sides to every story.

What was the point of the wind tunnel? Does Ant know the amount of downforce required by that setup? Just increasing it for the sake if it will just make things worse.

Maybe it’s to give the average viewer a rough idea of how wind tunnels/aerodynamics etc work.

It is just fun television! The wind tunnel bit is just a little more window dressing, as was the 3rd wing on the car.
They failed to measure the drag (or more likely didn't say) and only right at the end we got to know where the downforce was added.
Only about 14% on the front. The numbers are just a tiny percentage of race car numbers and really would have very little effect on the way the car drives. They were in the right direction, they would reduce the top speed, the car looked different and made the rear view mirror into an ornament!
I dread to think of the structural integrity of the badly hashed part, and just hope it doesn't become somebodies new windscreen visor;)

Me too. Edd is great but Ant is also good. He is not Edd but bring his own style.

I have also watched the first 8 in the series and I liked it. Ant is good at fabrication and they have stopped Mike having his 'mechanical session' on the car, which annoyed many viewers. including myself.

New series of Car SOS: More 4, 8 Jan, 9pm
