Its time for new tyres on my W124 and the wheels are in need of a refurb too.

So I'm thinking I may as well replace both if something interesting crops up.

Prefer 16" or 17", would be a bonus if theres life in the tyres.

Anyone upgraded recently and have something suitable left over?

I know someone who's just taken a set of Avantgarde wheels/tyres off his W203, I don't know how much they are but they won't be alot, and they look good on a 124. I can get you his email addy if you want?

Go for a set of AMG I's or II's, either design will suit the car very well

My suggestions are these:-

17" are nice and still a reasonable ride.

18" look good but you're compromising ride a little there

Personally, I'd not fit replicas, I'd go with the real thing, but replicas save you a lot of money.

£50 a piece for brand new wheels is expensive??

Actually I questioned your judgement as everything about them is just wrong.

15" is too small for a start and looks just awful. Then you've pointed out perhaps the worst possible design of mercedes wheel. A wheel so unpopular they are virtually given away on ebay shod with good tyres, so yes, the price is none too appealing either.

You could buy mine if you like for £1000 but you got to take the car too :)

There's no helping some people...
