Just returned from a lovely relaxing week in the Canaries.
During the week, we took a day out and travelled the length and breadth of Fuerteventura in a hired Seat Leon. Not a shabby little car by any means and it did exactly what was required.
However, returning back to a windswept, rainy Glasgow to find that my darling children left the fridge empty I had to go out to the shops.
Looked onto the drive and my car was looking a bit bedraggled. Dirty, wet and with the suspension looking a bit 'off', I pushed the fob to open it up.
On went the ambient lights, up went the corners and I started her up.
A few hundred yards down the road and I realised why I like my 8yo, 125k mile car. I returned home nearly an hour later as I 'just had to go for a drive'. The shops are around a mile from the house !!!
Sometimes, just sometimes, we take our cars for granted and forget how truly special they are to own and drive.
