Perhaps Jimmy could sort you out K. ? He seems to have spark plug related kit to deliver in his 'C' estate most days.

HT leads............you name we got it or can make it.;)

I could custom make any lead set you like to any length or pattern. Could even make it in a snazzy colour, I think we have some red, blue and yellow cable at the moment besides the standard black.

We have some very 'pretty' leads coming soon for Corsa's, Saxo's etc.:bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

Seriously though, I can make just about any type of lead set you want.

BTW, has'nt yours got DI (direct or semi direct ignition)? Mine hasn't got a lead set as such, two plugs have coils directly on them and two short leads going to the other plugs.

    I could do that...................but I won't!!!

I would only supply a complete set with new ends as the ends breakdown, deteriorate and are prone to arcing too.

Don't worry they wont be very expensive at all. you will have to let me know what lengths you want each lead or are they all the same?

I will look for some blue cable so it will match the rest of the engine bay. Can't promise that though.;)

    Forgot to metion....

A tip for measuring the length of cable is to use a piece of string and route it roughly where the leads would go, measure from the top of the plug boot to the top of the other boot, where the cable goes into the boot. I can work out the extra bits that go into the boots.;)

So I take it the ends wont be OEM mb parts then?

I will have to check but I think the screw connectors on the end of the leads would be compatible with your existing boots if you wanted to re-use them. The boots that I would supply with the leads would not be OE, but just as good........I would say that though wouldn't I!:D

Our supplier for some of the boots also supplies Ford but has to grind the Ford logo off every one that he supplies us!!!!!!

its one thing ordering a wire/connector piece and its another thing having a crimp tool - I make cables at work all the time from BNC, End type, ethernet, fibre......

It's all very well having the parts but trying to crimp with cr@p tools or wrong tools and especially not having experince in terminating a cable then forget it!

    jimmy you got a PM.

I shall speak to my technical department tomorrow, in other words I dunno.

We do sell cable to a local MB specialist who buys OE ends and makes up his own leads, I shall speak to him too.

    The valve cover is on!

The whole engine VALVE cover was replaced (rocker cover) along with the cover plate that covers the spark plugs ALA 'Kompressor' oh and a new rubber gasket!

As you can see the HT leads (spark plug cables) were too short but Jimmy has made me some custom leads to my measurements and to OEM spec ;)

left is old cover with the indentation for the old pipe to the inlet manifold...

    right is new cover ;)

the spark plug leads: MB rock!

    it can be unscrewed ;)

this morning I will be fitted my new leads! thanks Jimmy! I was able to keep the OEM plugs but the silicone cable was custom made by Jimmy at a special price ;)

Oh thanks for the wipers for the squeaky bubble car! - there on, dunno if its sqeaking yet!!

The valve cover had a few scratches on but V12 told me it would but you cant go wrong for 30 quid can ya?

So Mark300SL's Idea, V12's breakers for the Valve covers, and Jimmy for the custom HT leads - without the help of people from this board this mod could never of happened!
