After getting the car de-restricted I would love to see what the car is capable of achieving, anyone else interested in testing there car?

My question being does anyone know such a place where this can be tested and would be legal and safe to do so in a controlled environment?

I could try on a motorway but I value life too much to even try and can't take it to the autobahn - don't have time for that.

Anywhere in UK we could do this?

Regards.

Occasionally they run a VMAX event ..

That event sounds good - might give them a call and see what they can offer?

Thanks.

you Englishmen are blessed having known people as Clarkson, May and the third dude.
Can't they help you out to use the airstrips they shoot their cool testreviews videos?
Top Gear is great!

I wish we could use their runway but I think that might be a little difficult getting Clarkson, May or Hammond to agree on this..!!! :thumb:

There was one on 13 March.

Suggest you jump on Pistonheads and try to get an invitation to the next one

why is Clarkson a bully?
he likes to tease his colleagues with pranks!:bannana:
he's fun sometimes but sometimes he's too childish for his age.

The question does beg another question - why spend money getting it derestricted if you can't find out (let alone use) the difference??

The de-restriction was just part of a remap which harry-dhuga has had done to the car. The car was not specifically de-restricted.

I can de restrict my SLK, via rolling road mode, but that also turns off all the stability controls, which doesn't seem wise!

I assume your de restriction keeps these niceties?

I believe so, yes it does.

Yes, it has just had the speed limit removed within in ecu to allow car to go beyond 155

I have heard of the normally aspirated E55 reaching speeds of upto 185mph after being de-limited, not sure how much truth there is in that but I did have my standard one off the clock @160 once  and it still felt like it had loads more to give. I will be interested to see what you get out of yours:D

Not theirs to agree or disagree - it's a commercial business. Pay your money and off you go:

Track

We organised charity 'track day' event at Dunsfold Park with a previous car club I was a member of and Dunsfold's rules are strict so I dont see them letting you do a top speed run.
