I'm looking for a set of 4 "Insa Sahara" tyres; (31 x 10.5 x 15) and the best price I can find is roughly £80 per tyre...

Given that they aren't the normal run of the mill tyres, I think I may be stuck... any ideas?

Try Camskill.co.uk, miteldever tyres, or etyres.co.uk

Might be stuck with eblag...

eTyres: don't do them (I called)
Camskills: not on their site; waiting for them to call me back
Mitelldever: waiting on a callback

Kwick Fit in my area will even refuse to fit them if I can source them, let alone source them for me!

Just Tyres are a bit friendlier... they're going to call me back too...

Thanks tho!

Did you try the other two places I mentioned................?

Calling...

Actually, tyremonkey has a set of 4 for £300 inclusive of shipping, which sounds great.

Now I just need to find somewhere that will fit them (trying my best to bring the car to a greenlaning event on the 14th to get it tested in the rough...)

JustTyres quoted me £120 per tyre, with new valves and fitting... so a markup of roughly £40 per tyre, which seems a bit steep...

M.

EDIT: How odd, they say shipping is 0.00 but once you pay they add £27 for shipping... hmm, still the cheapest tho!

Just saw this on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270352016777

Has anyone tried these? I'm thinking it may be much easier to cart one of those around than drive over the tyre and fill it with lighter fluid...
M.

Probably OK, but as the finish is only cad plate and passivate, its not going to to be very corrosion resistant.

Give it a good paint with hammerite if you buy one.

Do you know if they help in refitting the tyre as well?

I'm not too fussy about balancing atm...

M.

Camskills just got back to me with £348 for the lot... might have gone for them had they been 5 minutes faster (at least I know/trust camskills...)! I just ordered from TyreMonkey... oh well...

REEDIT - just realised that bead breaker is for go-karts! Found one for car tyres, but it isn't suitable for alloys.... grumble.... Might be forced to pay an extortionate fee to get my tyres fitted!

etyres might do it if you give them a phone. You can but ask.

Fitting isn't my biggest concern atm - it's more the "removal" that worries me... I don't want to damage my old tyres as I'm thinking of keeping them as spares....

Fitting is.. well... a hairdresser's job :p Balancing is hard... Need to find a bead breaker that wont harm the alloys...

Try Martin's tyres West End near Woking, i have used for years 01276856846.

Very competitive.

try tyre shopper. comes up on google search. used them quite a bit for tyres and always save a packet.

Thanks for all the replies!

I've now ordered the tyres from monkeytyres - they were the cheapest who had an online price that didn't require further querying.

Now I need to figure out how to split the bead on the old tyres without using a vehicle's weight!

Question...

Have you used them (tyremonkey) before?

I'm getting a bit worried, I tried contacting them to confirm my order, but no-one has replied to the phone all day...

Also, the company registration number they show on their website, (03601826), is for SETFIRE MEDIA LTD... Which doesn't seem related to tyremonkey...

uh-oh...

M.

According to this, they are 100% safe and secure.
I wouldnt have told you of a bum outfit...........

I'm just getting excited... I'm going to test the car next weekend on a pay&play day... so I'm getting really antsy :D
