hi

my OM606 diesel estate (1994 E300D W124 estate) has vacuum in the tank where i remove the filler and there is a rush of air. also i think the fuel is getting sucked back into the tank, causing starting problems.

one possible cause could be the tank breather? can anyone let me know where this is and how to access it?

i already ahve checked the fuel tank strainer from below and its fine and clear.

thanks

hi
hmmm, I thought they were supposed to do that?
I think its supposed to whoosh out, at any rate my 230 does....

If you are talking about the fuel evaporative system then the charcoal filter is located under the nearside wing behind the wheel arch liner. A vent pipe runs from the tank in parallel with the brake/fuel lines to the front of the car. çàï÷àñòè Mercedes: êîäû çàï÷àñòåé ìåðñåäåñ
