where is vacuum for centre vent e220 1993

hi, after pulling Bills car apart, and replacing the stereo, and everything back together, but i still dont have air from the centre vent.

When you adjust the dial, i get demister and feet ( these are cable driven)

but when i move the dial to the vents the centre vent isnt opening to let the air thru, ive checked the vacuum hose that connects to the hvac box thats under the vent but there is no action happening, side vents are fine still, could of this dissconected from somewhere?

its a red vacuum hose, you can push the vent flap down but just closes back up, i thought that by starting the car the vacuum would adjust it self.

found it guys,

FYI

after going back for round 10 there is actually 2 vacuum hoses that connect to the fan switch knob, that must of came loose when i pulled the console off, i connected it back up and bingo fresh out out the front vents.

So maybe others that have had trouble and have pulled apart the console
check these hoses first,

and many thanks to the torch holder as its 10.30pm here and i didnt want it getting the better of me
