Do I check the PAS Fluid Level for the steering on my 2002 ML270Cdi--- As usual the handbook mentions nothing other than - go to your stealer and pay him lots...

there should be a fairly obvious 'pot' anout the size of a tin of beans, with a cap... open cap, should have very short dipstick on it with usual markings (hi/lo hot cold)

pot should have largeish thick rubber pipes (3/4" ish diameter) going to it. At front of engine, with or very very close to the PAS pump.

Level is fne, so noisy pump is off with the rest of the car to the selling dealers on Mon..

Have them check the injectors as well, it looks like you may have some blow by on No.1 injector.

I noticed that... And strangely enough on last years service report from MB a slight oil leak on No 1 was pointed out as needing attention..
