I remember selling a 328i Sport once. They came to view it, loved it but said could I hold it for them.

Er, nope!

They didn't want to leave a non-refundable deposit so I said I would contact them should an interested buyer come forward in the meantime so at least they had a chance.

No one did but you never know!
