It is like coming from the heater fan area. I read on one of the threads that it can be because of a leak on the pipe from intercooler to EGR . But if this is the reason should it not leave a fault code???
Could there be another reason???

Whooshing sounds on accelerating often mean a split hose between turbo and the manifold......I had a split in the hose between the intercooler and manifold although this was very difficult to see and locate. It did mean, however, that the car kicked out an embarrassing amount of smoke on accelerating. £50 for new hose and 10 mins to fit.

Seems that it is not a pipe. I went out for lunch; 6 miles drive and there was no noice. Finished lunch and started the car about 45 min later and the noise was there again and after 1 min it was gone and now it is very quiet. I think it is because of the swirl flaps or the motor which can sometimes work and sometimes not. I am confused
