What are running costs on a Cayenne? Must be eye watering surely? (I don't mean fuel).

Yup had to rule that one out due to potential big bills and lack of specialists near my dad's home.

He's back to UK this time next week so should be able to go and look at a few though i reckon he's already set his mind on an XC90

Remember going to buy a van with my boss a few years ago and seller had a cayenne he told me rare to get mpg into double figures:D

Blokes rangie was 3.0 diesel i went with him a few times and have to agree very nice place to be, even had a camera you could mount outside for offroad views:) factory fit, i think it was the vogue?

If he wants a proper offroader for £15k you really can't beat a Patrol, I had a crap old V plate one and the things it could do was amazing, I'd love another one but as much as I loved it the interior is awful, I think the newer 05 onwards are much better.

If he wants a soft roader what about an ML or a Touareg? Cayennes are cool, I've driven a Turbo and it was fun and thirsty but parts are mega bucks for them.

I took a 2002 X5 4.4 Sport in part-exchange the other day and thought I might have fun burning a tank of fuel in it. I drove it about a mile and parked it up - the ride quality was so appalling I couldn't drive it. They have a great drivetrain but I couldn't live with a ride like that

By contrast my 1981 Range Rover had a beautiful ride and was comfortable, if thirsty, for long distance work. Hoepfully the newer Range Rovers are as good
