I've just bought a set of these W211 'Ankaa' alloys to go on my W124:

I trial fitted one of the wheels on the front of my car, and when I nipped up all the bolts (with the wheel still in the air) the wheel was loose and could be pulled away from the face of the hub a good 10mm-ish. It would appear my standard bolts for my standard 8-hole alloys are too long.

Now, I've just been doing some searching on here, and I think I've answered my own question, but I just wanted confirmation of this!

Am I right in saying that not only do I need shorter bolts, but I need ones that are slightly 'stepped' to allow for the fact that the car uses 12mm bolts, but the wheels need 14mm bolts?

If so, are these the bolts I need - pack 4 or 4L?

Not quite. You need standard diameter bolts but with a R14 seat instead of an R12 seat.

Speak to Chris (murray systems) at alloywheels direct, he has the correct RAD bolts.

Packs 4 and 4L should be correct for this application.
