I‘ve had ‘bag in box‘ too, but just now I can only find 5L or 1L plastic bottles, at the premium prices

You are likely looking for 229.5 rather than 229.51 ?

You can get it, just need good dealer and get them to order it in at a good price, I've just got 20L for £72 with me picking it up (Edinburgh).

Is it better because of specs or long life ?

I change my oil and filters every summer and only usually max 6000 miles

I like Mannol never had an issue, altho I suspect I will have to scrap the merc long before quality of engine oil becomes an issue

In my high-mileage old bangers, I use 5w40 not 5w30.

Well actually oil sludge is what forms when you don't change your oil often enough. Oil functions in several important ways. It obviously provides lubrication and protection against the frictional damage of two metal surfaces rubbing against each other. Oil also contains additives like detergents, anti-oxidents, Dispersants and anti-foaming agents, each of which performs an essential function to protect your engine.
I know this is completely out of topic but was wondering if anyone can help

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have a 66 reg bluetec Mercedes c220d with 40000 miles on, my car also has a stage 1 remap on it that I’ve had for about 6-7months now. I’ve recently just had an engine management light come on to therefore find out that I need a new oxygen sensor and 2 new nox sensors. I find it strange how an engine management light has just randomly told me I have got 3 faults that I need replacing. Can a oxygen sensorcause a engine management light? If so why hasn’t that come up first or vice versa if it was one nox sensor that went first why didn’t the engine management light come up if that failed, why has all 3 come all at once, I’ve recently just had my mot done too and passed it. Is there anything that I am missing? I have been to about 3 different garages for them to tell me they can’t do anything and to take it to a Mercedes specialist who then quoted me 1400 pounds to get it all replaced without doing a wiring diagram, does anything think I should take it Mercedes dealership instead and find out exactly what the problem is, has anyone else had this problem, any advice would be really helpful, thank you!

Jai, start a new thread in the 'Engine' forum.

I can tell you what the advice would be, though; get the codes read by a good indie with a STAR (the MB diagnostic kit) and take it from there. Did the 'Mercedes specialist' you took it to run a STAR diagnostic check? When you say "without doing a wiring diagram", do you mean they didn't do that? If not, don't go back there.

If a proper diagnosis has been done, unless you don't trust the indie, taking it to a dealer will cost you probably twice as much for the same diagnosis.

I think I was told by my indie or maybe on here that MB use Fuchs oil in engines from the factory. Cotrary to everyones belief that it must be Petronas as on F1 cars.

£41.59 is an unbeatable price for 20L of decent oil. I may widen the search when my current stock of MB oil runs out.

Hi Gazwould, the Family "Fleet" consists of :-
2 x Skoda Superbs,
1 x Octavia, all 1.6 Tdi's.
I x VW Passat 2.0 Tdi,
1 x A6 2.0 Tdi,
I x Seat 2.0 Taracco SUV,
I x Peugeot 508 Estate 2.0 Tdi, and last but definitely not least ,
1 x MB E class 2.2.
Out of the above list, which car(s) would the Mannol oil mentioned above Not be suitable for? I presently have in "stock" 14 ltres remaining out of a 20 Ltr MB oil plastic box, plus 2 x 5 Ltrs Castrol Edge Titanium
But the offer you posted is not to be missed..
