Which graphics card?

I'm looking for a replacement for my ATI-based 5870 graphics card (retailed at £200+ 9 months ago, selling for £120 now!).

Do I go ATI or nVidia? And which one for a £250 budget??

It's going back under RMA - I wondered if it was worth upgrading it while it's out of the machine.

Trouble is that I've got a wedding this weekend and it's not worth buying a cheap throw-away card just for that - a decent 'upgrade' might be worthwhile.

Another vote for nVidia, tried ATI and they can't touch nVidia for drivers and being robust.
